Comment:  Seen advertised for sales on E-May with the following narrative:"I've owned this Jimmy for over 26 years and now the time has come to let her go so someone else can have fun with it!
It is a 1943 GMC 353 CCKW, long wheel base with open cab. All fully operational, all canvas/tilts/sidescreens, original composite body construction (rare), all new UNIROYAL bar grip tyres, kitchen and bedroom (double bed and bunkbed) conversion with storage units in the cargo bed, ramps and winch to accommodate driving a Willys Jeep into the cargo bed (ideal for you Jeepsters!) and ready to drive away.
Originally served in Europe before being given to the Dutch Army on the Lend/Lease program. When I purchased it I stripped and fully restored before taking it for its first I.M.P.S show at Paddock Wood in the Summer of 1988. Subsequently, this old truck is an award winner as it was awarded the Tired Iron Truck Service (T.I.T.S) for Best USA Military Vehicle at the War & Peace Show. It's claim to fame is that it appeared in Stanley Kubricks much acclaimed Vietnam war British location filmed epic Full Metal Jacket."

The Stencil is made up using the numbers of my date of birth and marked up to 3886 truck company Red Ball Express the number 7 comes from the book seven pillars of wisdom written by TE Laurence (Laurence of Arabia) and was also the former fleet number of my last vintage lorry.
She has a replica gun ring and 50cal and was restored by Graham Fife in Kent from 1996 onwards. It was then sold to Mr George Paice of Croydon. I then purchased her in 2007.
Artwork for 'Detroit Dotty' is by the awarding winning tattoo artist Tori Ford.
