Notes:  Seen advertised on Facebook Market place in May 2024 with the following information:

1945 GMC CCKW 353 US workshop body.  This truck was subject to full mechanical/electrical restoration by a company in Yorkshire.  Chassis/cab blasted painted, new wiring, rebuilt hydrovac etc.  Body was painted up to the back level of the cab, rest of the body exterior now needs to be painted. Interior is stripped out ready to go I still have the original blinds etc.  Drove back from Yorkshire to Kent beautifully.  Any questions drop me a message.  £14,500.00  or near offer - may possibly have a good set of Viking tyres that could go with the truck.

History:  Was released from the Swiss army in the mid 1990s at this stage they were in fully maintained and preserved condition having spent almost all their life unused. It was into England in 1998.

Comment (as provided by Brian Slingsby):  This vehicle has a workshop body on, but it is a Swiss army conversion.  They used this type of body after the war. You can tell by the curved roof and recessed rear wheel arches to get the body lower. Apparently they did this as they have a lot of low arched railway bridges that the trucks in standard workshop van body style wouldn’t get under!
